About Mental Health at Work

Mental health can be defined as a state of well-being, “in which an individual can cope with everyday stressors, work productively, reach their full potential, and contribute to their community”. It plays a key role in overall health, along with physical and social wellbeing, and it is much more than just the presence or absence of mental illness.

It’s no secret that work-related risk factors can negatively affect mental health, and vice versa. It affects everything: job perfomance, desicion making, stress, communication, engagement with work, daily functioning, etc. These are even more intensified if anyone takes into consideration recent events, like the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate & energy crisis.

But the days of not talking about mental health are over - or perhaps they should be. We believe that supporting mental health in the workplace, any workplace, is no longer a nice-to-have but a necessity. Nowadays, awareness, support and solutions for the risks of mental health at work must be a top priority for employees and employers alike.

Blue Colibri hopes to achieve exactly that.

Corporate & big business employers across the globe now recognize that protecting and supporting the mental health of employees is vital to the future of their business. This isn't exactly the case for the majority of businesses though, especially SMB, but this is only the start, and we wish to seize this moment properly, and permanently. What is needed is a moral imperative and a core strategy to sustain SMB employers’ most vital resource—their people.

Here's what we provide to support workers' mental health:

A mental health initiative for all workers - and employers.
Raise Awareness & Break the Silence
By raising awareness and breaking the silence about mental health, not only workers themselves recognise the signs and stand up for their own wellbeing rights, but also willing businesses & organizations take a step towards creating a culture in which employees feel safe and empowered to seek help and support when it’s needed.
Creating a Mentally Healthy Culture
Sourcing, providing, and promoting factual, correct, and vital information and sources on the risks of mental health in the workplace, both online & at work, is important for recognizing and learning about mental health issues, leading to a straightforward path of dealing with them properly.
Improving Access to Services & Support

When you're living with a mental health problem, having access to the right information is vital. And from the other side, it can be hard as a manager, colleague or friend to know what to do when supporting someone, or people with a mental health problem.
Our information includes helpful advice on giving support, individually or for the workforce in its entirety. We emphasize on providing the best and proper online resources in collaboration with various health services, organizations, and individual experts regarding mental health, both to workers and managers.
